Heated Pet Beds

Your pet surely deserves something much better than your cold kitchen floor. Pet beds, especially heated pet beds are ideal for your pet to nestle and snuggle in for a good sleep.Pet Beds-An Overview:

Just as the name suggests, a pet bed is merely a bed for your pet. Unlike human beds, pet beds come without a frame and rest directly on the ground. Though they may have a coverlet, pet beds do not have blankets or sheets. One can come across an extensive assortment of pet bed models ranging in style, material and size, from plain foam-filled cushions to sophisticated sofas with cooling and heating elements.

Your cats or dogs are going to love indoor heated beds. While comfortable heated pet beds keep your pets warm and cozy, pet owners also like them owing to the fact that they are easy to care for. In most cases the heater is detachable and can be removed for washing.

While purchasing heated pet beds opt for ones which run on a low wattage as this will make it more energy efficient. Your pet might like the comfy foam pillows or cushions filled with polyester fiber but choosing pet beds that are filled with cedar chips would be a clever decision on your part as they help greatly in discouraging flea growth.

Go for machine washable covers fabric (which is of course defiant to your pet’s scratching and chewing) as this will enable you to maintain the product more cleanly.

Factors that you will have to consider while buying a heated pet bed:

  • The size of the bed must be in tunes with the pet’s general proportions.
  • Take extra care to check out if the pet bed has a chew resistant cord failing which your pet will have to face the risk of getting shock by chewing the cord.
  • The bed must be wide and long enough for your pet to stretch out comfortably and completely without putting it in an awkward position of hanging over the side of the bed.
  • Opt for a heated dog or cat bed which is UL (Underwriters Laboratory) or CUL listed. This will make sure that your pet bed meets the required standards for safety against shock, fire et cetera.
  • Position the pet bed in a place distant from human activity and also other direct cooling and heating sources.

It is your duty to keep your pets happy and take care not to fail in this!
